School Counseling Services
- Academic Counseling — assists students and their families in acquiring knowledge of curriculum choices available to students, planning an appropriate program of studies, and seeking post-secondary academic opportunities.
- Career Counseling — helps students gather information and plan accordingly for work, jobs, apprenticeships, and post-secondary education and career opportunities.
- Personal and/or Social Counseling — assists students in developing and understanding of themselves and the rights and needs of others; in resolving conflict; and defining individual goals, reflecting their interests, abilities, and aptitudes.
- Classroom Counseling — the school counselors present counseling lessons in classrooms the school year that address developmental issues common to all middle school students (i.e., academic success, career, test-taking, bully prevention, etc.)
- Group Counseling — may be requested by students, parents, or teachers. Students will meet in small groups to discuss developmental topics such as self-esteem, social skills, changing families, grief and loss, and study skills.
- Individual Counseling — available to students at the request of students, parents, and teachers. The school counselor may meet individually with a student in regards to academic, career, or personal and social concerns.
